About House of Salt and Light
From Small Beginnings
It all started in our kitchen - cooking, baking, making, and creating from the most basic ingredients. We learned that God's goodness is all around us and for all to use. We grow herbs in our garden. We use simple ingredients. We make efforts to use local ingredients and support local businesses. That said, because we are located in a small town in the country, some of our goods must come from a distance. We patronize businesses who hold the same values we do: purity, whole, organic, minimal processing, ethical work labor, fair trade.
As a nurse of many years, our founder has seen the struggles patients have in relying on the healthcare system. We seek to give others the ability to use God's abundance to make their own goods. We believe that God's gifts should be shared and so too His knowledge.
Our Mission
To bring knowledge of God's herbs to everyone, to provide others with access to holistic recipes, to cultivate a culture of sharing and helping each other.
Our Location
We are located in the small town of Fertile in the middle of farm country in Iowa. We work out of the home right now but some day hope to have a brick-and-mortar business. At this time we are not accepting any visitors. Feel free to contact us with any questions you might have.
